The poem that Garrison Keillor read today was particularly good, I thought, although you would probably have to hear him read it to get the full effect. He has a great talent for reading poems: he always seems to find exactly the tone of voice you would hear if you overheard someone speaking the same words on the bus. He never sounds dramatic. He sounds like he understands what the writer meant. If you're looking for a good habit to cultivate, you could do worse than to spend five minutes listening to him every day.
