It's a sad day for our country; George W. Bush's election in the electoral college was certified in congress today. No matter where you are on the political spectrum, you can't help but see that our system of choosing leaders worked so poorly this time that it badly damaged the nation. The whole thing has left me pretty sad, and sometimes angry, but it also reminded me of how little I have done in recent years to help prevent the spread of ignorance and small-mindedness that triumphed so thoroughly and in so many ways during this election. It has to stop.
