I'm working at home this month, and found myself thinking as I climbed the stairs up to the attic this morning what a pleasure it is just to be in this good place. It's a wonderful thing to live for a long time in a house that you love, and that feels just right: not too big or too small, not too fancy or too plain. Marsha and I bought this house more than ten years ago now, for not much money, and we've been happy to be here every single day since then; we seldom see houses of any size or price that we would trade for ours.
Scott Shuger has a great last paragraph in Today's Papers this morning.
