We went to a dinner party this evening, and the first topic of conversation was Ginger: the completely mysterious but supposedly world-changing invention due to be released next year. Someone asked for guesses about what it might be. I guessed that it was some kind of personal hovercraft. Other people guessed that it was a gyroscopically stabilized unicycle, or just some kind of new scooter. I don't see how John Doerr could possibly call any kind of scooter "more significant than the World Wide Web," but the whole story will probably fizzle away pretty soon. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, though.
