Graveside services for Dr. Patrick
Wendell Brecheen, 68, of Lubbock will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Fairmont Cemetery in Hollis, Oklahoma, with his brother, Carl Brecheen, a Church of Christ minister from Abilene, officiating.
Arrangements are under direction of White Funeral Home of Lubbock.
He died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000, in Lubbock.
He was born October 22, 1931, in Hollis. He graduated from Hollis High School, Abilene Christian College and Baylor Dental School.
He moved to Lubbock from Tahoka in 1969. He was married to Mary Draper from 1953 to 1970. He married Berry Bergeron Smith in 1972. She died in 1993.
He opened a dental practice in 1957 in Snyder and practiced there until 1965. That same year, he formed a partnership with Dr. K.R. Durham and moved his practice to Tahoka. He opened his practice in Lubbock in 1970 and practiced here until he retired in 1999. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Cole of Portland, Oregon, and John of Abilene; a daughter, Jodie McClintock of Plainview; three stepsons, Billy Smith of Plano, Barry Smith of Hurst and Bobby Smith of Houston; a stepdaughter, Brenda Pierce of Birmingham, Alabama; a sister, June Cope of Hollis; a brother, Carl of Abilene; four grandchildren; and seven stepgrandchildren.
The family will have a reception from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at White Funeral Home.
